Job Description


The Worship Coordinator will organize and lead the Worship Arts ministry of the church and assist the Teaching team during worship services. The primary role is to inspire and lead the people in the worship of God during our Sunday Celebration gathering and during any special event as needed.


Hourly 20 hours per week, not benefit eligible


The position will report to the Pastoral Team



  1. Cultivate a life of prayer and Spirit-led follower of Jesus.
  2. Train and equip volunteers, build teams, and mobilize people to serve God and one another.
  3. Meet with the Teaching Team to connect with preaching themes.
  4. Incorporate multi-ethnic and multi-sensory elements for services.
  5. Prepare worship orders weekly and work with the Communication Coordinator to communicate by way of worship planning website.
  6. Recruit, train, develop, and schedule music team volunteers and volunteer worship leaders.
  7. Coach vocalists and help them grow in their skills.
  8. Arrange music and parts of instrumentation.
  9. Arrange for special music periodically for services and special events, either by adult praise team, special music groups, soloists, youth or children’s choirs.
  10. Collaborate with sound and media teams to ensure best media.
  11. Lead during the worship services and develop others who could assist.
  12. Train and equip future worship leaders among our Student Ministry or within the Worship Arts ministry.
  13. Facilitate the Sunday morning worship experience.


Essential Duties:

  1. Build a team that is always thinking about helping people to belong, believe and become.
  2. Facilitate the use of the worship planning website for all in the Sunday Celebration service.
  3. Coordinate the Praise Teams and leads for rehearsals.
  4. Give oversight and leadership as the Director of Worship Arts Ministry – music, media, prayer, arts, team, imaging and podcast.
  5. Participate in meetings/training as identified by the Teaching Pastor.
  6. Attend prayer gatherings and participate in prayer worship events.



College degree preferred


Qualifications required for the job:

Vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ with a calling and gifting for music ministry.

Must agree with our Faith Statement and be willing to sign.

Willing to partner on mission with Tabernacle Community Church.

Able to commit to the church’s vision, mission, and ministry philosophy.

Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Be faithful, available, and teachable.
