Campus Student Ministries Director


This person is responsible for the development of a middle school and high school movement that geographically corresponds to their campus.  This Director is responsible for helping to create a genuine biblical community that sees students transformed and mobilized by Jesus.



Demonstrate the qualities of a follower of Jesus Christ, with a passion to love God, live in community with those in the body of Christ and extend the love of God to those seeking him. Show a strong commitment to living out Kensington Community Church’s values: In Christ, Under Scripture, As a Family, For the One, From Brokenness, With Open-handedness, Through Others.



  1. Education:  Undergraduate degree in a related field preferred.  Training in leadership and management helpful.
  2. Experience:  Proven ability to lead and develop leaders, build teams and cast vision fro a high impact church.
  3. Requirements:  Teachability, humility, moral/ethical integrity, the desire to grow spiritually. Expresses and has confirmation of a desire and call to lead students in full time ministry. Membership at Kensington Community Church.  Affirmation of the mission, values and beliefs of Kensington.



  1. Oversee and lead Student Ministries campus staff.
  2. Create strategic plans and set goals for ministry year for high school & middle school.
  3. Create and implement operating systems for both high school & middle school.
  4. Create and implement plan for parent and family connection
  5. Recruit and train small group leaders for middle school & high school.
  6. Have a stage presence through teaching and hosting in middle school & high school weekly.
  7. In charge of operations, financial reports as well as expense reports.
  8. Network and connect with middle school and high school students and their families at the campus.
  9. Meet with Children’s Director to align vision and strategy amongst all student ministries and grade transitions.
  10. Attend weekend services and be an available contact and resource for Campus Staff to refer families and students to.
  11. Attend, plan, and facilitate student ministries monthly outreach events (Campus and Church wide).
  12. Attend monthly all staff meeting
  13. Attend weekly campus team meeting
  14. Meet weekly with direct report

Kensington is a multi-site church. We have 6 campuses; 4 permanent facilitiles (3 in Southeast, MI and 1 in Traverse City. MI) and 2 portable locations in Southeast, Michigan. We operate as one-team/one-fight. We are looking for 2 Campus Student Ministries Directors at 2 of our fixed locations. Our Troy Campus and our new Clinton Township facility opening May 13, 2018.
