The Chaplain Corps for the Michigan Army National Guard is looking for seminary students to join our chaplain candidate program. This exciting opportunity allows students enrolled at GRTS to begin working in their career field. This allows students to gain valuable experience while training to become a fully accessioned Chaplain in the Michigan Army National Guard. The Chaplain Candidate program requires a time commitment of one weekend a month, two weeks a year for annual training, and completion of the Chaplain Basic Officer Leadership Course (CHBOLC). It is offered to any current seminary student in a MA Counseling program* or any MDiv program. Other students pursuing a ministry degree of at least 72 credits are also encouraged to apply.

*Students enrolled in an MA Counseling program of at least 72 credits at GRTS must commit to enrolling in at least 36 credits in credits normally taken as part of an MDiv program in order to establish the degree path as an MDiv equivalent by Army standards.
