Youth Adult Ministry Intern Position

Job Summary

The position of Young Adult Ministry intern is designed to provide practical experience and skills to college-age students.  It is an opportunity to apply learned techniques in practical ministry opportunities.  The Young Adult Ministry intern will use his or her gifts and talents to serve at The Prince of Peace and within its community. He/She is expected to build strong and faithful relationships with young adults. The position will report to the Senior Pastor. The candidate is expected to meet at least bi-weekly with the Senior Pastor for mentoring and relational development.

 

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

The successful candidates will facilitate a weekly small group for young adults. It is understood that the intern’s first priority is education. For various reasons, the small group activities may remain fluid around planned arrangements. Specific duties may include; developing a curriculum-based calendar, identifying current event subject matter, recording participant involvement, and facilitating group discussions. The candidate should be consistent in prayer for attendees, their communities, families, and the program through which we seek to serve. The Young Adult Ministry intern will average investment of 3 - 4 hours per week doing ministry (including relational investing), 2 hours of preparation, with a minimum of 2 hours for monthly meetings. 

 

 

Job Requirements

Related work experience or currently enrolled in a degreed Ministry program. Desire an individual with a willingness to work in the role of a Young Adult Ministry Coordinator. Individual must have good oral and written communication, judgment skills, and be able to work independently. Must be willing to work in an urban church setting. Individual must be dependable and mature. Transportation to and from activities may be provided, if necessary. In addition, the Young Adult Ministry Department will cover any activities requiring monetary costs, such as retreats or activities outside of the church. Mileage will be paid to and from the church at a rate of .45 cents per mile. The ministry is willing to discuss proportional tuition assistance for this position.
